• Formulate and review policies, strategies ,legislations, regulations, standards and guidelines.
• Prepare and review spatial plans  (national, regional and local level plans.
• Prepare urban design, landscape design, socio-economic and environmental plans .
• Prepare transportation master plan.
• Carry out settlement studies, development review and Monitoring and Evaluation.
• Research and promote innovative planning techniques and practices.
• Provide technical assistance and capacity building to Engineering Clusters, LGs and other agencies.
