From 4–8 August 2025, the Geomatics & Logistic Division organized a National Workshop on GIS System Assessment and Climate Data Gap Identification in Bumthang, gathering 30 officials from central agencies, thromdes, and dzongkhags.The workshop focused on reviewing existing GIS systems, identifying climate data gaps, and enhancing collaboration to support more effective, data-driven planning in Bhutan.
A preliminary assessment report based on the workshop findings will be shared soon. This initiative was supported by the Global Environment Facility in partnership with UNDP through the Enhancing Climate Resilience of Urban Landscapes and Communities (ECRUL) project in the Thimphu–Paro region.
